Dear Wags and Col,
I'd only just caught up with your podcast recently when you were lambasting the government's handling of the increased tax on alcopops.
You might like to check Laurie Oakes comment in the Daily Telegraph a couple of Sundays ago. In the article he exposed the 'so-called' increase in hard spirit consumption since the introduction of the tax. The figures quoted were supplied by the Liquor industry and not surprisingly 'demonstrated' the unintended consequences of the tax. A load of crock... Oakes destroyed this argument with a well researched investigation. Something you might like to investigate?
